Emily Wells is a Los Angeles-based writer, at work on her first book about 1800s French hysteria and contemporary chronic illness. She has an MFA in fiction from UC Riverside, and now teaches writing at UC Irvine.
Emily writes about art and culture for publications like Vogue, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Flash Art, Document Journal, and many others. She has been an editor at Purple Fashion Magazine in Paris and Flaunt Magazine in LA, and a crime reporter at a Pulitzer-winning daily newspaper.
Currently, she is editor-in-chief at Perfect Number Mag, the editorial project of the fashion brand Perfect Number, and associate editor at Artillery Magazine, a bi-monthly print publication on contemporary art.
